Agadir (a word which means “fortified collective granary” in Amazigh (Berber) (Tfinagh: oxoΛ∑O, Arabic أكادير)is a south-western Moroccan city, located only 94 kilometers from the Canary island, at the Atlantic coast. It is 508 km to the south of Casablanca, 173 km from Essaouira, and 235 km to the West of Marrakesh, in Souss region. Agadir is the capital of the administrative region Souss-Massa-Daraa (Interactive Map)  and the head quarters of Agadir prefecture Idaoutanane.
