guideIn 2006, Morocco has created the responsible tourism Charter whose objectives are:

To preserve our culture, values, traditions, identity and the Moroccan environment

This charter is a commitment integrated in the plan “2010 vision” of Morocco which aims to become one of the first twenty world destinations.



Thanks to its richness, Souss Massa Daraa region has an objective of making the lasting tourism its first magnet by developing its natural resources through a responsible and perpetual management.

The Regional Council of Tourism in Agadir Souss Massa Daraa had taken important actions in order to safeguard nature

- The contribution of the international cooperation: Pertinent projects revolving around the Argan tree, the cactus preservation and the education of rural women. For that purpose, many women’s cooperatives have been developed.

« Ecolodge Atlas Kasbah » : A symbol of the region’s lasting tourism. In 2009, the project “ecolodge Atlas Kasbah” received the eco-tourism label, a project based on the good management of natural resources and the environment preservation.

THE RESPONSIBLE TRAVELER’S GUIDE

 The responsible traveler’s guide is intended to every tourist in Morocco. It is an invitation to adopt certain rules and behaviors which are respectful of our local values.:

Respect for values: : The organizations of touristic development themselves have to pay attention to the traditions and the culture of regions and populations.

Respect for the cultural richness: : Tourism activity has to be conceived in a way to permit the following up and the blooming of the cultural, traditional, and folkloric productions, and not to provoke their standardization and their impoverishment.

Respect for the environment : It is the duty of all the organizations of touristic development to safeguard the environment and the natural resources in the perspective of a lasting economic growth, and also to fairly satisfy the needs and aspirations of the present and future generations.

"Examples :

- For the aquatic side, Agadir is one of the 13 cities of Morocco that were attributed the blue flag beach.

- As for housing, the green key label was launched in 2006 by Mohamed VI foundation in order to reward the hoteliers of their good practices.

- When it comes to activities and leisure, all the new golf courses will have to be equipped with water recovery.

" Respect for children: : Human exploitation under all its forms, particularly sexual, and especially when it is addressed to children, infringes the fundamental objectives of tourism.
