ORNITHOLOGICAL RESERVE

Located 20 mins away from Agadir, Cap Ghir is a beautiful touristic site where you can observe, with the help of a telescope, the crossing of the traveling birds on this high colline. To mark your stay in the Southern Morocco, You'll have the chance to admire the big flow of the migratory birds. You can find there:

  • Gannets ( Morus bassanus)
  • Scopoli's shearwater (Calonectris diomedia)
  • Common Tern (Sterna hirundo)
  • Sandwich Tern ( Sterna sandvicensis)
  • Lesser Cristed Tern (Sterna bengalensis)
  • Manx shearwater (Puffinus Puffinus)
  • Common Scoter ( Melanitta nigra)
  • European Storm Pertrel (Hydrobates pelagicus)

Tamri Cap Ghir is a natural stockpile that contains more than 300 bird species.
The species that should be mentioned for it's so rare in the western Mideterranean, is the marbeleld duck, that we can find the Maghreb countries. This specie is to be observed in this natural reserve in the south of Morocco, in the zones near the rivers.

Thoudands of migrant birds arrive in spring to escape from winter in other places. others come to find nourishment and rest.
