TOUZOUNINE, ON THE ROAD OF THE SAHARAN CARAVANS

The historic town of Tamdult, now renamed Touzunin, was founded by the Moroccan Idrissid dynasty. Tamdult was an essential stop on the road to Timbuktu for the caravans that linked North Africa to sub-Saharan Africa. Large maaures, gardens, mechouars ... many vestiges of the past testify to the golden age of Tamdult and continue to delight tourists.
