THE WATER CLOCK OF AGADIR LEHNA

Three kilometers from Tata on the road to Tagmout, the Agadir Lehna palm grove is renowned for its water clock and its ancient cemetery. The water clock of Agadir Lehna is an ancient clock (hydraulic clock or water clock) which operates thanks to water, allows the sharing of irrigation water according to the share durations alloted to each family or each Berber tribe. This centuries-old water clock allowed the equitable distribution of water for the irrigation of palm groves and plots of market gardening. These ancient customs and traditions, full of common sense, are to be discovered absolutely during holidays in the south of Morocco.
